GM / Ultium Employee Discount Eligibility
The GM / Ultium Employee Discount is available to a variety of individuals, including active and retired GM and GM Financial employees, former hourly or salaried GM employees with a certain number of years of service, and widows or widowers of former GM employees with a certain number of years of service.
Active and retired GM and GM Financial employees are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following individuals: spouse, domestic partner (for active GM salaried employees only), children, stepchildren, grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, grandparents, parents, stepparents, siblings, mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law, brothers-/sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The domestic partner must be registered through Fidelity but does not need to be enrolled in GM benefits.
Former hourly or salaried GM employees with 5-20 years of service are eligible for the discount and can sponsor their spouse and dependent children. Children must be under 21 years of age or full-time students under 25 years of age at the time of purchase.
Former hourly or salaried GM employees with 20 or more years of service are eligible for the discount and can sponsor the following individuals: spouse, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, grandparents, parents, stepparents, siblings, mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law, brothers-/sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

GM Discount For Children of GM Employees
The Family Legacy Program offers children of retired GM employees who no longer have access to the GM Employee Discount, the opportunity to purchase or lease up to two new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac vehicles each year at the GM Employee Discount price. Additionally, this discount can be combined with most current offers to provide even greater savings.
To be eligible for the Family Legacy Program, the individual must be:
- The child of a deceased GM retiree without a surviving spouse
- The child of a deceased GM retiree who declined surviving spouse benefits
- The child of a deceased surviving spouse of a retiree who received health care or pension benefits from GM.
The savings can also be shared with the individual’s spouse or dependent children (under 21 years of age or full-time students under 25 years of age at time of purchase).
To determine eligibility, interested individuals should follow these steps:
- Fill out the Online Application by clicking the provided link.
- Download, complete, and fax the Eligibility Form.
- The applicant will be notified within 5 business days of their eligibility status after submitting the Eligibility Form.
