#1 Cochran was founded in 1965 as a single-point Pontiac store, just across the Pennsylvania border in Pittsburgh, PA. Since then, we’ve grown to more than 38 new vehicle franchises representing 20 domestic and imported brands.

Through it all, we’ve never left our family-owned roots, which inspire us to remain true to our origins and be an innovator in our industry. In particular, #1 Cochran is known for reinventing and enriching the customer experience.

Today, we’re thrilled to serve the Mahoning Valley with a variety of new vehicle brands: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Nissan, Honda, Ford and Mercedes-Benz. In January of 2023, #1 Cochran acquired Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, part of the Sweeney automotive family that has been a fixture in the Boardman community for more than a century. We’re honored to continue their family-owned legacy. In June 2023, #1 Cochran acquired Boardman Nissan, making it our fifth Nissan store overall and first in Ohio. September of 2023 saw three more stores welcomed to the fold: Donnell Ford Boardman, The Honda Store, and Columbiana Cadillac.In January of 2025, the Fred Martin Ford and Mercedes-Benz became #1 Cochran stores.
