The New 2021 Buick Envision | See The New Buick SUV
One thing is for sure about Buick: it’s a brand with comfort and class. The new 2021 Buick Envision completely embraces the classy Buick style with a distinctly modern approach. Buick has redesigned the Envision with a wider, lower stance and is now offering it with the highly rated Avenir trim. Let’s take a closer look at the features of the 2021 Buick Envision.
Buick Envision Interior
The 2021 Envision’s interior will accommodate you and your passengers in comfort and style and provide welcome tech and convenience features that enhance the trip.
At the heart of the cabin is the driver-centric panel, which is tilted toward the driver for a clearer, better view. The Envision’s interior also features a versatile all-new center console that integrates the following features:
Dual-wing center armrest: A popular feature of the previous model, the dual-wing center armrest returns so you can easily access the storage compartment under the armrest without disturbing your front-seat passenger.
Electronic precision shift: Instead of a traditional mechanical shift lever, the Envision’s electronic system uses an electric pull/push button, which not only improves the vehicle’s technology quotient but also maximizes space under the console.
Covered storage compartment: This compartment, located under the instrument panel, features a retractable cover that enables you to hide storage of valuables. In equipped models, it houses the wireless charging pad, along with USB ports, an accessory outlet, and an SD card slot.

2021 Buick Envision Seating
The 2021 Buick Envision also comes with five-passenger seating, which features a 60/40-split second row that can be folded flat with the cargo floor. Slotting in between the larger Enclave SUV and the smaller Encore compact SUV, the new Envision has about 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second-row seats and about 53 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first-row seats, with the second row folded flat.
The new Envision also has a range of seating appointments, in dark and light color themes, including perforated leather in the Essence trim. Heated front seats are also available in the Essence and Preferred trims. Other interior features include:
Heated steering wheel
Air ionizer, which indicates air quality
QuietTuning, including active noise cancellation
Panoramic power moonroof
2021 Buick Envision Engine and Performance
The 2021 Envision is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. While similar to the optional 2.0-liter turbocharged powertrain in the previous model that made 295 pound-feet of torque and 252 horsepower, the turbo-four in the 2021 Envision is rated at 258 pound-feet of torque and 228 horsepower, and this motor is paired to a torque converter nine-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Buick Envision MPG – Fuel Economy
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released the official fuel economy numbers for the 2021 Envision, though only in the AWD spec. The new Envision gets 22/29/25 mpg highway/city/combined. To compare, that’s exactly the same as the 2020 Envision’s aspirated FWD. Also, this is an improvement over the previous Envision’s AWD turbo by about 4 mpg on the highway, 2 mpg in the city, and 3 mpg combined.
However, the 2021 Buick Envision doesn’t need regular premium fuel like the 2020 model does. So basically, you’ll use cheaper gas, and less of it, at the expense of about 19 horsepower.
Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The new Envision features driver-assistance and active safety technologies, which are designed to help you monitor your car’s surroundings and alert you when they detect potential hazards. Other safety features of the new Envision include:
- Forward collision alert
- Lane change alert
- Front pedestrian braking
- IntelliBeam auto high beams
- Following distance indicator
- HD surround vision
- Lane keep assist
- Adaptive cruise control
- Enhanced automatic parking assist
- Head-up display
- Automatic emergency braking
Buick Envision Towing Capacity
The 2021 Envision isn’t equipped for towing heavy loads, but it can handle a pop-up camper or a small U-Haul trailer. The vehicle has a total towing capacity of about 1,500 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,164 to 1,318 pounds.
